Absolute

What do you think of a relationship and also social friends?
Are they of the same level in your eyes or they are very much different from one another?
what will you do if someone kick you out from their life as if you are nothing and never ever have any connection with at all. I would like to ask this questions to all my friends but don't have the guts to really ask it directly as maybe i will get the kick from my own question.
It really sucks when looking at someone who is being dump or ignored just like that by their special person(their darling buds). Can't help it looking at their gloomy face..
To my friends, be strong okay. There is someone out there still looking for you. Trust me!

A Dagger Into My Soul

Hello to everyone. Just in case anyone wondering what i have been doing all this while during this long and boring hols, sorry to say but nothing of that special except for one occasion.

My 3rd cousin's wedding. It was supposed to be the utmost special and happy moments for me but deep down inside i felt like i lost something that always been mine or should i say like i lost someone that is so special to me - my best friend and also my sister. Why do i feel this way? Well maybe it is because i fell in love with her silently. What to do maybe it was not mine to decide. She had chose her lifetime partner in which to me could be call as dad. Anyway, its her choice. I had never ever been so dedicated towards something or any events like what i have had done for her wedding ceremony. I stayed up for two days with only one hour of sleep. All i want is just her wish come true and her wedding is going as planned. Well, every went as planned except that certain people did not satisfied with some people during the ceremony yet it turns out to be a great day.

Then the most happy thing for me is that my mom are able to follow or should i say : i am able to take my mom to Kelantan, finally. hehehehe...

Its all just a lame story and this holiday is the most dull thing ever appeared in my life. No night life except for now that i'm in Bangsar and tomorrow i am moving to Bkt Antarabangsa for don't know how many days then go back home waiting for the new semester to open.

Sad moments

Well, I don't know whether my friends is still logging into this anymore or not but i will still continuing this. Before we had our Writing paper, a friend of mine was being struck by a very shocking news; his father passed away that morning due to shock. It was so unfortunate for Ed but a good thing for his father. People might say that i am cruel to say such thing yet isn't it a good thing that he left all his miseries and gone to his creator? he'll be peace up there waiting for the judgement day.It was an unfortunate for Nur Adli because he still needs a fathers' love and care. He must be wanting his father to be always behind him.

But who am i to say anything about this. I don't really know how he feels actually but i know that he is hurt inside. I hope he will be a lot stronger going through this. I've gone through this situation before and it really struck my life. To me my father was everything and my will to survive. When he left me that day, i felt like my intention in getting all that i desire is no more important and my life is meaningless without him by my side. That is why i am not really care about my life right now. Hope my mom will be able to make it to watch my glory. Let us recite al-Fatihah to our beloved one who had gone to the other world and also to Eds' father.

REMORSE, repentance, GUILT, regret ? END.

This is my last week of studying and next is revising week. Time move so fast that I though it was only yesterday that I entered this semester. Man, I am dreaming away. I have learned a lot this semester. A lot of experience that one cannot have if you are not one of my course mate. Why do I say such thing? This is because a lot of thing happened along the way and it was not a good and most wanted things to be happening. However that is the reality of life that no one could ever argue about. It happens without our approval. I do not like all of this stupidity living among us but what to do; it is not me who chose what to happen and what is not. It is their choice and their own weight to be carry with their life. As for me, I don’t really care much as I will get back to that person individually and by the meanest way I could possibly imagined. I cannot do close combat as this would end me up in jail or court later.

Learning this subject really taught me something that really out of the context of drama. I am really glad that this course is being taken at the perfect time. Some of my friend may know about what I am talking about. Backstabbing, treacherous, choosing sides, double face, ignorant, and a lot more; these are the quality that should not be developed by a tertiary level people. Living up the standard of an educated person yet behaving in the opposite way. Living in disguise will end you up with trouble dear, so BEWARE. Don’t ever do bad things to people or even humiliate people as who are you to talk about him as you yourself had never reflect yourself so how about a reflection people. Never ever try to be so nice and acting clever commenting about other people where it could turn out to be your last day on earth. This is what had been the turning point in Oedipus life where he kills his own father because they look down on him. Silent people would do disastrous thing and very revengeful. BEWARE PEOPLE.

However, that is not all what I have learned in Drama class. The most obvious thing that I have learned is that play will be a good thing to be sarcastic and a way to channeled your thought to the society as this would eventually relates their schemata of the topic in the play and connect it to reality. As for doing micro teaching also, I have learned that it is hard to really get the students attention and most of my friends’ activity was not so attractive and interactive as the students were not keen in participating with the class. These are some of the thing that I should be pondering on and revised more.

The great honor and credit is to my lecturer, Dr Edwin as he had been a very good and inspiring lecturer for all of us. You’ve made us realized things that slip from our own sight. This is the thing that is being discussed in Oedipus and King Lear. Let’s leave out the education thing a side for now. I really enjoy the class. I was a very sad thing that he is not teaching us anymore as he has a lot of thing to be learned. What ever it is, I wish you good luck and all the best in your days ahead. Thank you for everything that you have done for all of us. For bringing in the laughter in the class when we are down. You have been quite an example to me. Continue to admire literature, okay.

Well this is the end.
Sayonara.
Adios.
Arigatto.

MICRO TEACHING : FINALLY THE END

Last Friday Thursday was my last presentation for micro teaching. It was for my EDU 3217 subject. The teaching that I’ve done on that day consist of pre reading and also while reading. It was made into one session as we don’t have enough time and this is the last week for our meeting. I was not really in a good condition at that time. My emotional state was not good and at the same time I was not feeling good. Despite of all that, I still able to finish my task quite well but not a very interactive situation as Mr Harold keep on pushing us as he want to finish it quickly. It was so inconvenience to me and maybe to the rest also. It was doing on the play selfish Mr Pederson and looking at the character and personality traits.

I choose to do it according to the scenes in it. I chose scene 2 and scene 8 as my focus on that day. I asked the students to indentify that character and their traits with the evidence from the text. It was successfully done and carried out. My second activity was focusing on the personal pronoun that is being used by the main character (Mr Pederson) as this story is about him. The students were able to do the task in the given time but I was not able to go through it fully even on the surface as our tutor asked me to conclude the lesson. I was quite disappointed about that. Previously before starting the micro teaching, I was running all over the place as I forgot to bring my teachers’ instruction (new copy). With my bad condition on that day I was so tired but I pull myself in and managed to accomplish my job. I think I had done my best on that day and it was directed to me. Really hope that all of the troublesome that I faced on that day really paying off.

First move into Writing Arena

We have been assigned to come out with a play. So, my room mate and I chose to combined our brain and come out with this. This is the final result of our drama >> Beautiful Release in the Silent Reverie – the tale of a lonely soul

By: Amirul Safuan Yusof ( 144522) & Nor Razmi Ismai (144479)

Notes for the teacher:
Extremely compelling, somewhat rather touching and perpetuated the profound inner self reflection. A story that will appeal to the heart of the readers and generate a whole lot of thinking and self proclaim. This play is more towards matured readers, upper secondary or tertiary level students. Readers are expected to embark on the journey of self discovery, true friendship, fantasy romance, rock-bottom heartbreaks and lifetime memories that will forever altered the way anyone look at the word, LOVE.
In this play, the struggle and hardship of a single parent raising a daughter is portrayed. The challenges a young, innocent, and naive girl has to go through in the process of growing up will definitely be among the reason that the reader will feel they could relate to. There are several poems/songs in the play to show the emotions of the main character. Through this play, readers would be able to acknowledge the differences in people’s perspective, and the differences in point of view especially based on the social status. Through the play, student will be able to understand the important criteria in life, on how to make life more significantly meaningful and how they could actually reach out.
In the end, there is a shocking revelation that will definitely leave readers with such empathy and in sadness. The play will also touch the issue of what fate could bring upon us and how certain things are just meant to be what they are to be. In this world we could just plan and hope but most of the time, let nature take its course. Teacher must always bear in mind the importance of understanding each tiny and crucial detail to make the authors’ message successfully deliver to the readers. The repetition of certain words to hint readers the theme or message that lies in the text, is another key element that teacher should pay close attention to.

Daniel Kerim Abdullah ( Overprotective and a prominent figure)

Scene 1
Angelica just move from the city to this small town called Kiara Village, where shopping complexes are yet to be built, and mobile coverage that come and goes with the blow of the wind. Everyone is so happy and enjoy the welcoming party throw by the town leader, well… almost everyone, except Angelica. Outside she is everything a well brought up girl should be, but inside she is crying.
A garden party in their house yard
Rafiq and his friends are looking at Angelica from afar and amaze with such beauty she possess.

Town Leader: Well, finally you really move here Dato’.
Dato’ Daniel: hmm… I guess I was not really left with much choice over there, I would really need some time off from everything that had took place. It was hard on me, (while looking at Angelica) but it was harder for my daughter to handle. I hope she would feel better as time passes by (worries written all over his face).

The town leader continues to talk to Dato’ and does not show any sign of stopping it any time soon. Rafiq move upstairs with hope that he could catch the little angel they have been staring at for hours and probably talk to her and get to know her better.

Rafiq: Hi… it’s pretty cold out here. (Look down at the people on the yard) Why would stand here all alone and did not join us downstairs?
Angelica: (Look at the same way) I’m pretty much sure that this is MY HOUSE, and… wherever I want to be or NOT TO BE is none of your business.
Rafiq: Hmm…Sorry for trying to be nice to you, obviously you made the right decision to be all alone up here by yourself.
Angelica: Hey! What do you mean by that? (With annoy and irritate look on her face) You don’t even know me! Don’t you dare judge me! (Looks away from Rafiq)
Rafiq: I didn’t, but you did (glare at Angelica). You started to judge yourself when you started to ask me whose house this is. You started to put value on yourself and people around you, didn’t you?
Angelica: Oh, ok… now what? Are you going to tell me that you are some Mr. Know-It-All and that you are here to rescue me from turning into a lonely and self centered ice queen? (sit down)Oh, please!!!
Rafiq: Well… (sit down beside Angelica) For starter, I am Rafiq, 22 years old and my family earns money from tapping your dad’s rubber trees, and I am here to eat all the free foods I could possibly get my hands on because such cuisine doesn’t come every day, and you fine young lady must be Dato’s daughter, Angelica…right?
Angelica: Well then, why don’t you just leave me alone and go eat everything that is served there? (tail her eyes towards the gathering)
Rafiq: You see… that was my initial plan, but then, I saw such a lovely, but skinny young lady standing here all alone, and so I thought, well then, pity her, with all the foods and everything, she is still just bones and looking so angry, what could possibly go wrong? Do I need to offer her some foods? And…voila, here I am. (Make an innocent looks and tries to make her smiles).
Angelica: (giggles and smile)… I’m sorry… thank for the concern, but hey, I am not just bones, this is what people do in the city, they needed to fit in the designer clothes. You are either size zero or you are out. Thank for the complement anyway. (Finally she is smile).
Rafiq: I just said you look like bones! Skeleton if you will and you are thanking me? Wow! Which planet are you from? (Laugh) Anyway, I just want you to know that if you ever need anything, you can count on me, ok?
Angelica: That is so nice of you. Anyway I feel like eating something now. Would you like to accompany me?? (With a smile carve on her face).
After quite sometimes, a very bright and sincere smiles draws out from her face. Rafiq has brought a new meaning in her life and in a way lighten her day.
Both of them go down to eat and chat while eating their food. Dato’ was amazed looking at how daughter had a beautiful smile on her face. This is the first time he sees his daughter actually talked to people and enjoying the time spend with strangers.

Scene 2

Angelica is taking her morning walk at one of her father’s plantation. She is all by herself as usual and something is bothering her as she had puzzled look on her face. She was wearing red blouse with white pant. It had been weeks since the last time Rafiq came over to her house. She is thinking to herself of all the possibilities that could have happen to Rafiq. Out of a sudden, she sees someone almost something passes in front of her with a very incredible speed.
Angelica: What on earth is that? Somehow I think if I’m not mistaken I saw that face before. (She tries to remember the face that she just see)
Angelica : I must have been daydreaming. There is no way a mere human could do such thing or even I need myself an eye check.
She ran back home and stay inside her room until late evening. She walks down the stairs to the kitchen watching her maid, and then finally she talks.
Angelica : hmm… why is he just kept silence? He doesn’t even reply my messages.
Maid : oh… dear. You make me so shocked. Ermm, maybe something happen to him?
Angelica : Please don’t say such thing! I have enough worries you know, hmm…I think I actually miss talking to him. Do you know where he lives?
Maid : hmm.. The only thing for sure now is that he must be from the nearby village right? Maybe I could try to ask around the villagers?
Angelica : Oh… that would be nice! Please do that! (Excitement looks on her face)
Suddenly there is a weak distinct voice come from one of the window in the kitchen, the window that is facing to the thick jungle of trees to be exact.
Rafiq : Angel…
Angelica : Did you just hear that?
Maid : I think I do and it came from the trees behind the house.
Angelica : The voice was awfully familiar to me though.
Rafiq : Ika….
Angelica : I know I heard the same voice somewhere. This is just like this morning when I was taking my morning walk.
Maid : What happen this morning? Did the same thing happen? Is there anyone hurting or bribing you?
Angelica : No. it is not that anyone that wanted to hurt me or this kind of event took place. None of your guesses stick. (She tries to remember but she could not recall anything)
Maid : Well, tell me what is actually happened to you this morning? Someone attacked you? Tell me already… (Eager to know the truth)
Angelica : I cannot recall anything and it hurts when I’m trying to remember it. Argh… urgh…. (Cries due to pain in her head)
Maid : What happened my dear? Please answer me….. (Angelica falls down. The maid grabs her)
Angelica lost her consciousness and the maid call the hospital and Dato to inform him about Angelica. A few minutes after being given injection, Angelica starts to gain her conscious.

Scene 3
Rafiq and angelica is talking something about their life while walking around the village. They were starting to get closer and closer from day to day. Rafiq is the only friend and companion that she able to relate herself with. Before this Airiel Exema (her cousin) is the only closest friend that she had that able to comfort her when she is in trouble.
Rafiq: Well, it seems that you are all well and ready for some adventure. May I ask you something, Ika?
Angelica: What is that that bothers you my friend? Just ask me.
Rafiq : It seems to me that you are hardly spoke to anyone here since you moved here. Why is that?
Angelica : To be frank, since that tragedy I even hardly talk to my father. (Angelica pauses for a while and then continues) Since… I lost my mom…
Rafiq: I am sorry for bringing this matter up. I really am… ( Rafiq regrets for what he says. Angelica get emotional) I don’t know the tragic behind your silence. I’m so sorry…
Both of them keep on silence until they reach Angelica’s house. Angelica apologies to Rafiq for being too emotional and promise that she will do something in return as a favor as Rafiq agree to accompany her.
Angelica : I’m sorry that I’ve ruins our day out. it should have been filled with lots o joy and laughter but.. (Rafiq puts his finger at her mouth, not allowing her to continue her words)
Rafiq : It was my fault. If I did not bring front those questions to you, all this wouldn’t have happened. But I promise as a return I will tell you a secret of mine my love. Take care of yourself. Until we meet again, my dear.
Rafiq walks away from Angelica house and fade away behind the trees. Angelica said nothing in return and just stood still watching Rafiq fading away.

Scene 4

Both Angelica and Rafiq talks about current issues while admiring the beautiful scenery that they have up the hill. All of a sudden, Angelica pop out a million dollar question to Rafiq. She has been waiting for this moment to seek the truth about Rafiq’s life. She never meets his parents or his siblings he claimed to have.
Angelica : Fiq, can I ask something personal? You may or may not answer it, it’s your choice but I still want to ask you this. It has been bothering me so much trying to figure out this.
Rafiq : Yes, you may. What is it my dear? Why are looking so tight?
Angelica: Please Fiq, tell me the truth. Who are your parents? And where do you live? I’ve never seen them or even seeing you with any of your siblings that you claimed to have. (Confuse and seeks for an answer)
Rafiq : What if the truth cause you your life? Or even your entire family’s life? Would you still want to know about it? (Serious looks on his face)
Angelica : Is it that serious? My maid has been asking people around the village about you and it seems that not even one really know about your family. Why is that, Fiq?
Rafiq : For a starter, let me show you something.
Rafiq take Angelica into the forest and show her a big mansion that as large as her house. The only thing that is different is that it is old and the base of the house did not touch the ground. A common old wooden house but this one a larger version.
Angelica : Where are you taking me, Fiq? Slow down, please. (They reach the destination and shock look on Angelica’s face) Where are we? Why are taking me here?
Rafiq started to explain everything but not almost everything, just the thing that she wanted to know.
Rafiq : This is where I live. It has been for generations we live in this house. My siblings are all gone for work and my mother (look for his mother) maybe she is out to the town. I have no father as what I’ve told you. Are you satisfied? (Turns to Angelica seeks for her reactions)
Angelica : Are you seriously kidding me? You live in here? This is a joke, am I right?
Rafiq : No, I am not joking. Ika, if you do not believe me it’s up to you. You wanted to know the truth, I’ve told and show you the truth.
Angelica : It is so far from the village and the town. I could never imagine that a human would live out here, in this thick forest. It is dangerous and also creepy. You must be kidding me. Take me home now, Fiq. Please take me home. (Irritate and scare looks on her face)
Rafiq has no choice but to obey her and take her home. Angelica’s face turns plain with no reaction and almost no blood flowing inside her body anymore. She is now regrets with she eager to know. Deep inside her heart, she knows that Rafiq is trying to make her scared and leave his family matters aside. There must be something that is happening to either Rafiq or between him and his family. She keeps her thought to herself and determined to ask about it again next time.

Scene 5
Angelica asks Rafiq to accompany her to her father’s orchard for her usual morning walk. They agree to meet at the water front gate. Angelica reaches the place first and around 10 minutes later Rafiq shows up. He walks with bare feet and from far he seems like a man that had just wake up.
Angelica : Why aren’t you wearing anything on your feet?
Rafiq : Well, you see. I wake up late and it is much easier for me to run with my bare feet. It’ll be much faster and comfortable. (Smile)
Angelica : This is your second time coming to see me with bare feet. What a weird man… (Wonder reaction on face)
Rafiq : Well, this weird man that you claimed is your friend. (Arrogant looks on his face)
Angelica : Well, it will be noon any hours now. Let’s go.
They both walk towards the orchard with giggles and smiles. Angelica tells her story and her concerns as usual when meeting Rafiq. One time, Rafiq walks a bit faster than Angelica and she sees something that she had never saw it before. On both Rafiq’s leg, there are two more toes behind his leg. He wanted to ask directly but she afraid that it might be hurting his heart. It might be from when he was born. She continues to talk to him like nothing happens. They sit on a big rock near the rubber tree.
Angelica : I really want to see you mother. She must be very pretty and kind for having you as the outcome. (Smile)
Rafiq : Well, not at the moment. She is volatile at the moment and unstable… (Slip of tongue) Just forget about what I’ve said, Ika. One day I’ll bring you to meet my mother. One day… (Look away from Angelica)
Angelica : You are getting weirder and weirder these days. What is actually happening to you? Is there anything that you want to share with me? Don’t be shy. We’ve known each other more than 5 months Rafiq.
Rafiq : Nope, nothing that is serious. (Plain smile on his face)
Angelica : I’m sorry if my question is going to hurt your feelings but what are those behind your leg? (Point at Rafiq’s feet)
Rafiq : I thought you would never be able to see it. That is why I always wear long trousers to cover my foot. (Numb face) I think it is the time for me to tell the truth about me. I like you very much and I like you to know the real me before you say anything about I’m liking you. (Pause)
Angelica : I’m sorry if this is a personal matter. You don’t have to explain anything to me. (Concerns look on her face)
Rafiq : No. One day I need to tell you the truth also. It better be today than later before something happens. (Take a few steps away from Angelica) I’m actually not 24 years old. I’m 124 years old. I know it sounds crazy and bluffing to you but that’s the reality. There are four of us in the family. I am the youngest and the only torn among the roses. (Once a while look at Angelica) There were once a legend where this village never been intrude by any outsiders. It is because there was one family that dedicate themselves to the devil and swore to protect this village from any harm. That family was my grandfather’s family. It was not an easy task and cost the entire family’s life. From there we poses power beyond any mere human could imagine. We could communicate with the nature and holds the power to annihilate anything by just looking straight into their eyes and wish for it to happen. This is actually a curse. Every full moon, we will evolve into monsters. We hunger for flesh and blood. If we did not consume any of it on that night itself, we will not be able to turn into human shape back and die seven days later.
Angelica : (interrupt) So, it was you whom I pass by 5 months ago in front there running so fast with blood on your face. Is it blood? But why only now I could remember about it? (Terrify looks)
Rafiq : Yes, it was me. And it was me also that wipe out your memory about seeing me passing in front of you. I don’t want to harm your life. If my mother knows about you seeing me that day, she must have killed you.
Angelica starting to get the picture that she is in great danger had placed her in the line between life and death. Rafiq continues to explain about how he likes Angelica so much and this is why he is telling the truth to her. It is all up to her whether to accept him or not but he had satisfied knowing that he had explain everything to her and express his feelings towards her.
Angelica : I don’t mind what kind of people you are. The main thing is that you understand me and cheer me up. You brought lights into my life once again. Although hearing all that makes me terrified but I’m sure there is a solution for both of us.
Rafiq : I don’t know Ika. It is not as easy as you think. You will have a very suffering life later on and for your information I will die at the age of 157 if I don’t have my male descendent before the age of 127. I don’t know how to explain this but I hope you’ll think about this over again. (sad face) I should be sending you home now or Dato will be worried.
They walk together but no conversation occurs this time. Both remain silence and does not look at each other.

Scene 6
Angelica is at the garden feeding the fish in the pond.
Angelica : What should I do? It had been 3 days since I know the truth about him. He did not show up at all. Where should I find him? (Curious and wonder look on her face) Where does he lives?
She keeps on pouring the fish food into the pond and then seat at the nearby stand. Suddenly, she remembers something.
Angelica : He used to show me where he live. I did not believe him at that time because I did not know the truth about him yet at that time. Maybe I should go there. (Cheer looks)
Angelica rushes herself into the house and changes her cloths to go and looks for Rafiq.on her way into the forest that leads to Rafiq’s house, something bites her and she faint. Fortunately, at the moment Rafiq pass through that route and takes Angelica to the hospital.

(At the hospital)
Dato’ : What happened? What have you done to my daughter, Rafiq? (Angry and pulls Rafiq’s shirt)
Doctor Alex : It is not his fault. He was the one who brings Angelica to the hospital. She was bitten by something. Something that our venom specializes cannot detect the source of it.
Dato’ : Please Dr, I’ll do anything that will save my daughter’s life. (Sad face)
The three of them walks to Doctor Alex room.
Doctor Alex : We are trying our best now. We are waiting for the blood test and also the X-ray of your daughter’s muscles activities.
Nurse 1 : Dr, this is the X-ray result of Ms Angelica. (Leave straight away)
Doctor Alex : It seems that the venom damaged nothing but the heart muscles. Your daughter’s heart is no longer functioning very well. She needs a heart donor right away.
Rafiq : Please use mine Doctor. Don’t let her die.
Doctor Alex : First, we need to examine the compatibility of your heart and her heart. One more thing is that, for this kind of cases we will need a donor who is dying because we will need the entire heart to be replaced.
Rafiq : I don’t mind if I die. I only want Ika to be well. It is all my fault. She went to look for me.
Dato’ : I’m so sorry for being abrasive and hostile to you just now. You are a noble young man. But will your parents agreed with what you are trying to do. Furthermore, it will cause your life. I will not let you do it.
Rafiq : But it’s your daughter’s life at stake now. We need a donor as soon as possible.
Doctor Alex : I’ll run a test on both of you to see whether it is compatible or not.
Both of them were taken to the test room and undergone the necessary procedure that they requires. 2 hours later they get the results. Both Dato’ and Rafiq called into Doctor Alex room.
Doctor Alex : Have a seat gentleman. Well, I’m afraid to inform you that both of you were not qualified as the donor. We are trying to get donors from all over the country that will compatible with Angelica’s. I’m so sorry. If we did not make it before 12 pm tomorrow, there is nothing that we can do anymore.
Dato’ : But doctor…. (Tears run out from his eyes)
Rafiq keep on silence and out from the doctor’s room. He walks straight to Angelica’s ward. He knows what had happened to her. Only he can save her, none of all this modern technology could. He changes his course and seeks for a pen and paper. He writes something on it and makes his way to Angelica’s ward. He kissed her on the forehead and starts to cast some spell while holding her hand.
Rafiq : This will hurt a bit but it will save your life. I am sorry my dear for causing you such trouble. I Love you so much. (Tears of joy and regrets drop from his eyes)
His entire body was shaking and his face suddenly turns pale. Dato’ come into the room when the chant almost complete. All that he sees is half of Rafiq’s body.
Dato’ : Rafiq, what is happening? What is happening to you?
Rafiq : Don’t worry Dato’. This is my sacrifice for my beloved one. I will not be able to walk on this earth again if Ika die. Please tell her that I love her so much.
Rafiq disappeared from Dato’s eyes. Few minutes later Angelica gains her conscious and starts to ask question. Dato’ does not say anything but only tears of joy from his eyes.
Doctor Alex : (shock) This is a miracle… She was on her way to heaven and now she all well again. All praise to Almighty God.

Few days later, Dato’ gives Angelica the letter that Rafiq had wrote to her.
Rafiq : Ika, if you read this letter it means that you are all well now. This is all that I can do for you. You now own my heart. Your heart was taken by my mother. She was the one who had bitten you. The bite meant for stealing livings’ heart. Any living thing which heart is stolen by us can only live for 24 hours and die the next day. I am sorry on behalf of my mother. Now, you carry me inside you and my generation within you. Don’t worry, you will not have to drink or eat flesh as I’ve thrown away those traits while combining my flesh with yours. While you reading this letter, I am no longer in this world. I’ve given up my life for yours. I really like and love you, Ika. You bring light to my life. You sort the meaning and give me hope. And now I hope that you change your life and live among your society. I hope you’ll further your study and become a great person. Goodbye my sweet Angelica. You are the queen and lights in my life. I will always be there in you. Please make me a grave to be remembered, will you. Thank you and please leads a happy life my dear.
After reading the letter, Angelica cries as hard as she could. She is so sad as if the world is turning upside down for her. She doesn’t even have the opportunity to say how much she loves him for the last time. Weeks of grieve and she wake up one morning and become a better and stronger women. Still, there is not a single logical explanation could ever explain what had happened between Rafiq and Angelica, it was too surreal to believe, yet she is the only one who had and is still feeling all of what he had brought upon her, the happiness and the sadness of losing again. However, she has moved on, of course, with her life, but the memory and the touch in her heart that Rafiq had given, will forever remains. She never spoke of him not to anyone, not even her own father, it is now as deep as a woman’s darkest pain, but then there is an existence of a guy namely Rafiq, and then he had saved her, in every way that a person can be save. All of their yesterday, are now only in her memory. She pursues her studies and now she is teaching at one of the top universities in UK in Nanotechnology.

I hope to those who are reading this would be kind enough to comment on our play so that in the future we would do a better job.

Meeting Great Author

Yesterday, one of the most admired writers came for a talk with us. I really like him as he really does what he think should be done and does not concern or restrict in his writings towards the surrounding or the measures. All that he does is write in what he believes and only speak the truth in his wisdom. I really like the way that he point out certain things that been happening around us that some of us or let just say most of us do not pay attention to. If this kind of thinking is being implemented in each of Malaysian: positive thinking and reflective thinking, Malaysia or even the world would be a better place to breathe in.
The person that we are talking about is no one other than Kee Thuan Chye himself. He retells a lot of stories about us human and specifically us Malaysian. I really like the fact that he write about us where it actually helps people to open their mind and look at things in a different perspective. I really hope that Malaysian are an open-minded society and rather professional in rating and acceptance towards knowledge. This is because his writing can be considered as knowledge as it reflects on the society where society could learn the reality of ways of life they had been living with. I don’t know why some of us are so confused and reluctant to accept the fact that they are not perfect and cannot accept when other people point out what have they done wrong in life. They actually should be wiser in terms of being more careful and reflective in everything that they are going to attempt. They should look at the important points and from there improvise as you could be a better human.

During the session with Kee Thuan Chye, he tells us his history a bit on how did he struggle to get what he achieved today. He loves to write and he said that he had started to write since from the very beginning of his life, I mean when he entered school and learn how to write. He graduated from USM and then applied for a job there as temporarily worker, and he worked there until some conflict occurred and he was being kicked out. He continued his dreams by applying and accepted by National Echo. When the company went straight to hell, he ends up working with NST in KL around 1979. After that he discussed with us on the play that we are working at which is The Swordfish then The Concubine, the improvised version. He actually has changed the story (improvised again) and be looking at some rather important aspects and more of going detailed into the core of the story. I can’t wait to look for the latest version as I want to know what kind of improvement that he had on the play this time. From his experienced looking at people and dealing with all sorts of conflict, he had come out with plays that share his opinion and his authenticity with the public. I would love to see his master piece being staged here in Malaysia. You see how narrow minded our people is? They do not accept the reality of their own characteristics, their true traits. Every time when they are movie, books or even pictures that represents the truth about the society, they disapproved it. Why is this happening in Malaysia?

All his works are about what we have achieved up to this moment. What kind of improvements or failures that we have developed along the way. In Malaysia, how close we have come to become Malaysian? Or how close we are to be called as united? I know that we should not be saying this but to those who read this, before you judge anything, I would like you to rejuvenate your mind with these questions: Do you believe that we are truly united as in a Malaysian? In all the crisis and conflicts that had been happening lately, does that show we are united? Are the Malay even united?

This is what I have been saying in certain blogs that I’ve entertain few months ago when there were things about us being united and about the Malay is trying to defend their rights. Where have their morals and values gone to? Shouldn’t they be the one who is responsible for their own actions? Come on, we are educated people, we should be acting like one and start to think about the people/ society that we crowd. As I always point out in any of my comments, if the Malay among themselves have a lot of crisis, issues, fighting and despise of each other, can we (all races in Malaysia) be united as in the Malay itself are scattered all over the place? Think and improvise people. May we lead a better future, and better way of thinking!!!

Simulated Teaching Begins

Well, I have done my set induction for my Edu 3217 simulated teaching. There still two more to go which is pre-reading and while reading. It was not so satisfying for me. I did not do well at that time as maybe, to me, I think my instruction is not clear or directed enough although my friends and Mr Harold say it is okay and nothing is wrong. I was thinking of showing pictures of people or cartoon scripts that shows people is irritates with this one guy action and his attitude but I turn out to show movie clipping. the clip that picked out is from The Day The Earth Stood Still where human ask for a second chance to change and lead a better life. The human promise that they will do all that they can to protect the earth from destroyed and continue to suffer. It was a good movie to watch and fortunately, there was no technical problem along the way. I hope I would do a better job in the future and a much better thing when I am teaching in the real world, in classroom situation. Pray hard people!!!

Theater moved me

PUTERI GUNUNG LEDANG THE MUSICAL

Actor: Datin Tiara Jacquelina (Puteri Gunung Ledang), Stephen Rahman Huges (Hang Tuah), Ac Mizal (Gusti Adipati), Adlin Aman Ramli (Sultan Melaka).
Venue: Istana Budaya

At the time that Dr Edwin asked us to go for theater as one of the course activity and will be given marks, my friends and I already signed ourselves for musical theater. It was Puteri Gunung Ledang the Musical (PGLM). To me it was a great movie which I was not able to watch it at the cinema. Before this I had already tried to get myself into the theater hall watching this beautiful stories live, unfortunately I don’t really have access to the any of the events. This time I was so thrilled that finally am able to watch theater play in real theater house. Although that I used to watch theater before this, it was not staged in a theater hall instead it was staged at the public hall. However it was a great experience and it motivates me to watch more of this drama play. Coming back to PGLM, almost half the class went for the play. Despite of the traffic and confusing parking lot due to the flooding people going to the theater, we are able to make it in time. When the play started, the whole Istana Budaya filled with applause. I felt so amazed and full with spirit at that time. The set/props used were beautifully arranged as expected from a very big production. Some of my friends were not really enjoying watching it. To me if you are not into this kind of thing, you might just stop talking and commenting (saved it after the play) and just watch. From there you might get something or even admired the play because if you watch while criticizing, you will not benefitting anything through out the whole play as your mind is clouded with other thing. Puteri Gunung Ledang is a well known princess in the Malay history. She poses mystical power that no one ever caught their eyes on her. In the play, she is a Javanese princess by the name Gusti Putri Retno Dumillah and she is the sister to the ruler at that time, Gusti Adipati. One day, Melaka sent his best man to Java due to the threat the kingdom gets from Demak ruler. From here on, the princess falls for one of the Melaka’s messenger, Datuk Laksamana Hang Tuah. They were so attracted to each other and one day Hang Tuah had to leave Java going back to Melaka. The princess promise to Hang Tuah that if he does not come back to Java, she will across the oceans and stay at Gunung Ledang waiting for him there.

She really did that and as time pass for few weeks, Sultan of Melaka ordered his man including Hang Tuah to deliver his proposal for the princess at Gunung Ledang and this really surprises Hang Tuah but it is his oath and his stands that he will not disobeyed his Sultan at any cost. When he delivered the sultan wish to the princess, the princess was very upset and regretted her faith on Hang Tuah. She thought Hang Tuah will not obeyed the Sultan this time but he is what people said, the Sultan best man, following every single word of the Sultan accordingly. He did what the Sultan asked and the Princess felt so disappointed in him that she gave a lot of thing (crazy and pointless thing) as her dowry. These entire crazy thing that she asked includes the Sultan own son’s blood. She actually wants to reject the proposal by being sarcastically but the Sultan does not realizing it and he actually was challenged by that demands. In the end when he wanted to spilled his son’s blood, Gusti Puteri appeared out of no where (seriously, it was full of magic at that time in the hall) and she apologies to the Sultan but the Sultan was not interested in it and he banished her to Gunung Ledang and will not be seen by anyone and to those who sees her will tragically died. The love triumph between Hang Tuah was not achieved, instead it is said that this is the time where Hang Tuah vanished from this world looking for his beloved princess. Some says that he is still remaining at Gunung Ledang with the princess. No one knows the real story of him and the princess ever after that. It was a very satisfying moments watching the play. Although the setting and the duration of the play was so long, I never felt it as I enjoyed each and every moment of it. The setting was really intriguing and almost to the real situation. The castle was real with big door. I wonder how they managed to lift heavy the props. The only disappointment is that our seat was at the very top and we could not manage to see the play from the front instead we could see all the things that people down stairs cannot see. The most admirable thing is the magical elements that they put in. it was as real as you will not noticed the people in the set disappeared. How I wish that I am one of the actor because it will be a great honor to work with such production. This is the most admirable and memorable play in my life. Although this was my third time seeing a play staged at Istana Budaya but this one have a great impact on me the most.

Movie Time People : GOOD or BAD?

Our lecturer has asked us to watch some of the movie that we are doing in Teaching the Language of Drama. It is a good thing to watch as I could have the view of the real situation, setting, and the language and also the way the play is being transformed into a movie. To me the differences between a movie and a play is that we could have a better understanding of the story in movie due to the insertion of the real setting and situation where people would get a better way in criticizing and viewing rather than in a play where the audience need to actually imagine the situation and setting. This would rather be difficult for those who are not familiar with the setting of place and time of that era. It would rather make the audience become confuse and could leads to misunderstanding.

Although that I said it is a good thing to watch the real scenario in the movie, I don’t actually really into the movie as its setting is lame and old. The movie is very legging and rather boring. Before this I’ve watched the movie of Mcbeth and now I am seeing another rather new version of Mcbeth and to me this one is way better than the one that I had watch before. By this I have a better understanding and a good view of the movie. This is what good about movie viewing where you could learn something good from there. I hope my friends too have a good time and take in some input out from the movie viewing.

POOR THING >>> Intolerable.

In Teaching the Language of Drama, we require to learn on Oedipus Rex text (play). I like play and to me Oedipus Rex is quite easy to understand although the language, some of it, is unfamiliar to me. After reading the text, there are certain things that I don’t actually understand what the writer is trying to say. Therefore, I use another alternative which is looking for the simpler version (edited into modern English language) and also its summary. These have given me a better understanding of what the text is all about. In the story, King Oedipus had been told when he was a young boy that he would marry his own mother and the one who kill his own father. Due to that prophecy, he decided to run away but on his journey, he ran across a group of man. They insulted him and make him angry so he fought them and killed them without knowing the fact that the old man that he killed is his father. The royal family that he brought up with is not the real parents.

After that he continues his journey and finally arrives in Thebes. The people in Thebes had just lost their King (king Laios; the person that he had killed), so he becomes the King and he is married to Jocaste (his biological mother; the queen of Thebes). After quite sometimes, there’s plague affecting their country so he tries to solve the problem with many ways but it is said that they should be looking for the previous king murderer. Thus, the plague will be gone. Oedipus seeks for Teiresias’s help to unfold the story behind the king’s murder. However he refused to listen to the truth that is being told by Teiresias.
After that he is being told that there is a servant that knows the story of previous king. After being told about the real story then only he realizes that his fate cannot be undone no matter what he did. All the prophecy upon him turns into reality.

After knowing the content of the story I remember there is one similar situation in our country but this one in the only he knows about the real story behind his journey of life. This girl met her boy in university. They then got married and blessed with two children. When the girl is 3 months pregnant to her third child, the father in which had left her and her mother when she was 13 years old came to visits her. This visits had somehow unfold a very sad and tragic story. Both the husband and wife is actually sibling. Later, they were being asked to separate. This is not supposed to happen because when you are married to someone, it means that you had gave a hundred and ten person dedications to your partner and this tragic tragedy will tortured their life.

I really pity for Oedipus and the married couple.

Teiresias : Origin?

In Teaching the Language in Drama class, we encounter a story on king Oedipus. While doing the analysis of the story, Dr Edwin asked us to find out about Teiresias, a blind prophet. There a lot of myths related to Teiresias, therefore I combined all together and come up with this compilation of story on Teiresias. I hope this will help my friends and those who are interested in knowing about Teiresias.

Eighteen allusions to mythic Teiresias, noted by Luc Brisson, fall into three groups: one, in two episodes, recounts Teiresias' sex-change and his encounter with Zeus and Hera; a second group recounts his blinding by Athena; a third, all but lost, seems to have recounted the misadventures of Teiresias.

Teiresias was a prophet of Zeus. According to the mythographic compendium Bibliotheke, different stories were told of the cause of his blindness, the most direct being that he was simply blinded by the gods for revealing their secrets. An alternate story told by the poet Pherecydes was followed in Callimachus' poem "The Bathing of Pallas"; in it, Teiresias was blinded by Athena after he stumbled onto her bathing naked. His mother, Chariclo, a nymph of Athena, begged her to undo her curse, but Athena could not; instead, she cleaned his ears, giving him the ability to understand birdsong, thus the gift of augury.

On Mount Cyllene in the Peloponnese, as Teiresias came upon a pair of copulating snakes, he hit the pair a smart blow with his stick. Hera was not pleased, and she punished Teiresias by transforming him into a woman. As a woman, Teiresias became a priestess of Hera, married and had children, including Manto, who also possessed the gift of prophecy. According to some versions of the tale, Lady Teiresias was a prostitute of great renown. After seven years as a woman, Teiresias again found mating snakes; depending on the myth, either she made sure to leave the snakes alone this time, or, according to Hyginus, trampled on them. As a result, Teiresias was released from his sentence and permitted to regain his masculinity. This ancient story is recorded in lost lines of Hesiod.

In a separate episode, Teiresias was drawn into an argument between Hera and her husband Zeus, on the theme of who has more pleasure in sex: the man, as Hera claimed; or, as Zeus claimed, the woman, as Teiresias had experienced both. Teiresias revealed woman's greatest secret: that she receives the greater pleasure: "Of ten parts a man enjoys one only." Hera instantly struck him blind for his impiety. Zeus could do nothing to stop her, but he did give Teiresias the gift of foresight and a lifespan of seven lives.

Stripped of its narrative, anecdotal and causal connections, the mythic figure of Teiresias combines several archaic elements: the blind seer; the impious interruption of a natural rite (whether of a bathing goddess or coupling serpents); serpents and staff (Caduceus); a holy man's double gender (shaman); and competition between deities.

Teiresias's background, fully male and then fully female, was important, both for his prophecy and his experiences. Also, prophecy was a gift given only to the priests and priestesses. Therefore, Teiresias offered Zeus and Hera evidence and gained the gift of male and female priestly prophecy. How he obtained his information varied: sometimes, like the oracles, he would receive visions; other times he would listen for the songs of birds, or ask for a description of visions and pictures appearing within the smoke of burnt offerings, and so interpret them.

As a seer, "Teiresias" was "a common title for soothsayers throughout Greek legendary history". In Greek literature, Teiresias's pronouncements are always gnomic but never wrong. Often when his name is attached to a mythic prophecy, it is introduced simply to supply a personality to the generic example of a seer, not by any inherent connection of Teiresias with the myth: thus it is Teiresias who tells Amphytrion of Zeus and Alcmena and warns the mother of Narcissus that the boy will thrive as long as he never knows himself. This is his emblematic role in tragedy. Like most oracles, he is generally extremely reluctant to offer the whole of what he sees in his visions.

In Hellenistic and Roman times Teiresias' sex-change was embroidered upon and expanded into seven episodes, with appropriate amours in each, probably written by the Alexandrian Ptolemaeus Chennus, but attributed by Eustathius to Sostratus. Teiresias is presented as a complexly luminal figure, with a foot in each of many oppositions, mediating between the gods and mankind, male and female, blind and seeing, present and future, and this world and the Underworld.

Teiresias appears as the name of a recurring character in several stories and Greek tragedies concerning the legendary history of Thebes. In The Bacchae, by Euripides, Teiresias appears with Cadmus, the founder and first king of Thebes, to warn the current king Pentheus against denouncing Dionysus as a god. Along with Cadmus, he dresses in women's clothing to go up the mountain to worship Dionysus with the Theban women.

In Sophocles' Oedipus the King, Oedipus, the king of Thebes, calls upon Teiresias to aid in the investigation of the killing of the previous king Laius. At first, Teiresias refuses to give a direct answer and instead hints that the killer is someone Oedipus really does not wish to find. However, after being provoked to anger by Oedipus' accusation first that he has no foresight and then that Teiresias had had a hand in the murder, he reveals that in fact it was Oedipus himself who had (unwittingly) committed the crime. Outraged, Oedipus throws him out of the palace, but then afterwards realizes the truth.

Oedipus had handed over the rule of Thebes to his sons Eteocles and Polynices but Eteocles refused to share the throne with his brother. Aeschylus' Seven Against Thebes recounts the story of the war which followed. In it, Eteocles and Polynices kill each other, and Megareus kills himself because of Teiresias' prophecy that a voluntary death from a Theban would save the city.

Teiresias also appears in Sophocles' Antigone. Creon, now king of Thebes, refuses to allow Polynices to be buried. His niece, Antigone, defies the order and is caught; Creon decrees that she is to be buried alive. The gods express their disapproval of Creon's decision through Teiresias. However, Antigone has already hanged herself rather than be buried alive. When Creon arrives at the tomb where she is to be interred, his son, Haemon who was betrothed to Antigone, attacks Creon and then kills himself. When Creon's wife, Eurydice, is informed of her son and Antigone's deaths, she too takes her own life.

Teiresias and his prophesy are also involved in the story of the Epigoni. Teiresias died after drinking the water from the spring Tilphussa, where he was struck by an arrow of Apollo. After his death he was visited in the underworld by Odysseus, to whom he gave valuable advice concerning the rest of his voyage, specifically concerning the cattle of Helios, advice which Odysseus' men did not follow, to their peril.
